Steve Johnson is the founder and president of XL. Steve earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from Georgia Tech in 1983 and completed a M.S. in electrical at the University of Colorado in 1988. For nearly two decades he worked for both small and large tech companies including IBM, Kentek, Spur Products, and HP, filling design engineering, engineering management, and marketing roles. He earned his Juris Doctor at the University of Southern California in 2005, then returned to Boise as a patent attorney at boutique law firm. In 2006, he returned to HP as Director of IP licensing, leaving HP in 2011 to finally strike out on his own.
In his free time, Steve enjoys flying single- and multi-engine land airplanes in the Idaho backcountry.
Ladawan Johnson is the office manager at XL. After completing her B.S. in Computer Science at Georgia Tech, Ladawan worked in the aerospace program at the University of Colorado as a satellite flight controller. Since then she has had a number of jobs as a senior programmer and software engineer at tech companies in Colorado and Idaho, including StorageTek, Mountain Engineering, Public Service Company of Colorado, and HP.
In her free time, Ladawan enjoys competing in tennis leagues and tournaments.
